A Basic Guide to Daily Fatigue

If you are suffering form daily fatigue, it may be difficult to get everything done on your regular schedule.  You might find that you are dozing off as soon as you sit down for a minute, or that you feel sleepy even though you slept for a full eight hours the night before.  Daily fatigue might also manifest itself in more subtle ways.  You might find that your memory is less sharp or that you have more difficulty concentrating.  Daily fatigue may also result in diminished appetite or in dizziness.

What You Can Do About Daily Fatigue

If you find that you are waking up tired already, you will want to consult a doctor.  Although the most typical cause of daytime fatigue is lack of adequate sleep, it may also be a sign of a deeper more serious condition.

Once you have seen a doctor and ruled out the other possibilities, you may find that poor sleep is the actual culprit of your conditions.  Poor sleep may also have several causes.

Stress

Given the current state of the economy and the nature of our modern day hectic lives, it is no wonder so many of us find it difficult to get a restful night’s sleep.  Anxiety and just a general sense of worry may cause insomnia and other sleeping problems as well.  If you are having troubles at work or in your love relationships, it may be due to stress.

If stress is the cause of your daily fatigue, then you will need to take action on several fronts.  First, you should look to try to reduce the overall stress in your life.  Attempt to resolve the issue that is causing you stress.  If you are having troubles in your marriage, seek counseling.  If you dislike your job, look for a new job.  Try to find ways you can overcome the sources of anxiety in your life.

You may, of course, not be able to separate out the stressors in you life.  A dieing loved one or a problematic relationship (as with divorced couples) may be necessary and without resolution.  When this is the case, you simply need to learn better coping methods.  Learn methods of relaxation and biofeedback to help you with these issues.

Look to exercise and eat better as well.  These can have a tremendous effect on you sleep health.

Depression and Anxiety

Sleep problems may also result from depression and anxiety.  The same relaxation methods listed above should be attempted.  However, if you find that you depression is so severe you are considering putting an end to it all, then you should seek immediate help with your condition.  With counseling and medication, you may find a solution.

Physical Disorders

Your daily fatigue may also result from simple physical problems inhibiting your sleep.  Sometimes it is simply your sleeping condition.  You may have an uncomfortable bed, or pets that sleep in bed with you and force you to twist and turn to fit.

For many people, the cause is the partners they share their beds with.  Perhaps your spouse snores loudly or likes to read or work in bed, keeping the light on.  Or you may have a room whose temperature is difficult to control.

You should address these conditions so that you might improve your overall health.

Sleep Apnea

Many people also suffer from a sleeping disorder called “sleep apnea.”  Sleep apnea is a breathing disorder that makes it difficult to breathe while laying down and that may lead to snoring and other more serious conditions.  If you snore and sometimes wake up suddenly in the night, this is a good sign that you might have a breathing disorder.

You should consult your doctor, as sleep apnea can be a dangerous condition.

In fact, regardless of what you believe the reason for your daily fatigue is, you should consult your doctor for further evaluation.  You should not have to live with daily fatigue.
